Main Accountabilities:
- Participate in the analysis and design of programs and classes, produce program specifications and detailed design documents
- Complete application design, code, unit test and integration test tasks to departmental standards within necessary timescale
- Provide accurate estimates for development efforts
- Participate in code and documentation review
- Coach/mentor Junior developers
- Organize work priorities and time management effectively
- From time to time, provide support to customers, in-house delivery teams and partner organizations
- Work with product management to prepare product literature and collateral materials for the software product
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of J2EE, JSP, Servlets, EJBs, JDBC, JMS
- Working knowledge of Spring Framework
- Nice to have industry experience - Banking and Financial Services
- Very good knowledge of Websphere 5.x, Solaris
- Experience working with large, complex databases: Oracle and particularly DB2/UDB
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, Ext JS
- Strong knowledge of SQL (Oracle 8.x, 9.x), PL/SQL
- Positive, enthusiastic, energetic and self motivated.
- 7+ years of commercial software development experience, 4+ in Java
- Previous experience in detailed analysis and design of enterprise products
- B.Sc., Computer Science or equivalent academic qualifications
