Position Summary
J2EE Software Developer responsible for the design, development, enhancement, customization and testing of innovative Camilion software.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete application coding, unit test and integration test tasks.
- Meet departmental standards within necessary timescale.
- Key Deliverable: Completed code, as well as updated system documentation as stated in the Product Enhancement Request (PER) process which includes documentation that can be used by technical writers and interfacing groups
- Conduct maintenance coding and debugging of Camilion products
- Key Deliverable: Up-to-date Issue Tracking documentation for all issues. The update should include how the bug was fixed, and also how to use the feature if it has changed
- Organize work priorities, time management and effective documentation
Skills and Competencies
- At least 3-5 years experience as a J2EE developer
- Advanced skills in J2EE, JSP, Servlets, EJBs, JDBC, XML
- Experience working in a software vendor contributing to the development of complex applications
- Familiar with WebSphere
- Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML
- Good knowledge of SQL (Oracle 9.x, 10.x), PL/SQL
- Previous experience developing insurance software solutions in an asset
- Exposure to cutting edge technology including EXT-JS, Spring Framework
Education
- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
