Summary
The Business Analyst brings 5-10+ years experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry (preferably P&C). Experience is required in both a business and technical capacity in the collection of requirements, and the design, testing and documentation of complex business systems.
Accountabilities
The Business Analyst plays a critical role throughout client projects, from the Inception to the Transition phase, and works closely with clients and the Camilion team to deliver top-quality solutions.
- Attend client requirement gathering and gap analysis meetings
- Conduct review of client requirements documents
- If the client is responsible for gathering and documenting requirements: review and finalize business requirements, including business process flow, user interface requirements, product rules, forms rules, rating rules, underwriting rules, referral rules, re-assignment rules reports rules, business process rules and data element rules, use cases and, non-functional requirements.
- Support form data mapping analysis
- Support reports data mapping analysis
- Support interface data mapping analysis
- Validate attributes with ACORD Standards
- Create analysis and design documents for Camilion Software solutions
- Develop/implement business rules using Camilion´s ProductAuthority® software - for rating, referrals, underwriting, re-assignments, forms attachment, reporting and business flow.
- Support the creation and validation of functional and integration test cases
- Support and participate in test execution and other QA activities
- Review Functional/Transaction Design Documents created by developers
- Provide Project Manager with status, issue, risk, scope creep updates
- Escalate issues/risks to Project Manager as appropriate
- Provide input to project estimates
- Provide input to R&D regarding Product Enhancement Requests (PER) and Project Change Requests (PCR)
- Plan and execute knowledge transfer to client resources
- Develop and document expertise in insurance applications
- Ensure application meets client requirements
Accountability for internal projects may involve pre-sales activities, training, and contributing to the evolution of the Camilion documentation.
- Mentor project team members in requirement analysis and design tasks
- Provide or support application training for clients as required
- Participate in the development of Camilion Knowledgebase, Methodology and standard templates
- Support the creation/delivery of product and application demonstrations and presentations
Knowledge and Skills
- 5-10+ years experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry
- Ability to travel to the US (Canadian Citizen or in possession of US visa)
- Business process mapping and modeling
- User interface layout skills
- Business flow optimization
- Use case development
- Issue management
- Knowledge of Insurance business process (front office and back office), US ISO and non ISO lines, ACORD standards, estimating methodologies, statistical reporting
- Excellent technical writing skills
Additional Assets
- Knowledge of SQL and Reporting tools
- Knowledge of XML
- Data modeling
- Familiarity with OOA/D and RUP techniques
- Knowledge of Account management, Application, Quote, Bind and Issue business flows
- The Business Analyst must be willing and able to travel (primarily to the US) to work on projects on-site
